DMU Announces 2026 Graduates and Awards
Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences is proud to announce its newest graduates and celebrate their success. More than 430 new health professionals graduated during DMU's 126th commencement ceremony on May 29, 2026. The event highlighted the achievements of the DMU Class of 2026, including dual-degree students and the first graduates of DMU's Doctor of Occupational Therapy program.

Des Moines University Spring 2024 Commencement
Edina Shu of Newton, Mass., was among the more than 400 new health professionals who graduated May 24 with degrees from Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. Shu completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. She received a clinical discipline award in internal medicine and also was selected for membership in Sigma Sigma Phi, a national honorary osteopathic service fraternity. Only 25% of class members are chosen for membership based on academic achievement and service to the university, community and/or the osteopathic profession. Shu will begin an internal medicine residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
