West Des Moines, IA (07/08/2024) — Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences is offering FREE back-to-school physicals for students in July ahead of the new school year.
The event is designed to ensure that all students are healthy and ready for the upcoming school year. Student doctors and clinic providers will offer a range of services, including a physical exam, vision check, dental screening and more.
"Getting an annual physical is an important way to protect one's health and detect any health problems early," says Sarah Parrott, D.O., FAAFP, chair and associate professor of osteopathic clinical medicine and a physician at Des Moines University Clinic - Family Medicine. "Our goal is to make it easy for families to get their children ready for school and fall sports without the added stress of appointments or insurance concerns. This is also a great chance for DMU students to interact with community members. We are proud to offer this service and help ensure that every student has the opportunity to start the school year on the right foot."
