Des Moines University Psychiatrist Presents at International Conference for Women Physicians
West Des Moines, IA (07/06/2026) — Autumn Brunia, DO, a psychiatrist at Des Moines University Clinic - Behavioral Health, faculty member and 2019 graduate of Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences, is influencing female physicians from around the world.
She recently presented "Thriving Amidst Difficult Personalities" at the Women Physicians Wellness Clarity Conference in Aruba.
The conference brings together the world's top speakers on leadership, career development and self-care to share their stories and strategies on building and sustaining wellness while advancing in medicine in a historically male-dominated field.
"I'm grateful to be part of this conference and to share practical tools and strategies that help women in medicine navigate challenging situations," Brunia says. "The ability to have difficult conversations in a thoughtful and productive way is especially important right now. I'm committed to helping physicians stay well so they can remain in medicine and help others."
Brunia equipped the women physicians with practical strategies to navigate challenging interpersonal dynamics while maintaining professional fulfillment and well-being. She was selected as a top speaker and will also present at the Women Physicians Wellness Connect event on Amelia Island, Florida, this fall.
